24-Hour Claim Reporting Service

for Zurich-Insured Lawyers

 

This hotline is a simple and efficient way to report malpractice claims and it's available to all customers insured under our Lawyer's Professional Liability Program through Zurich North America.

Staffed by qualified and experienced Claim Service Professionals, the hotline is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. There's no need to mail or fax the first notice of claim. Just make one simple, toll-free call.

Once you determine the claim (or potential claim) should be reported, utilizing this hotline expedites the claim process, which may significantly reduce your claim costs.

Here's How It Works:

(for Zurich-insured firms only)


To report a claim (or potential claim) by PHONE :
  1. Call (800) 987-3373.
  2. The Claims Service Professional answering your call will:
    • Obtain details on your firm's policy with Zurich.
    • Request key information from you about the possible claim or incident.
    • Complete the first notice of claim for electronic transfer to Zurich's Claims Department.
    • Provide you with confirmation and claim numbers.
  3. Your telephone notice of claim (or potential claim) will be electronically transferred to Zurich's Claims Department within 24 hours. A member of Zurich's Claims Team will then contact you within one business day to discuss the next steps.


To report a claim (or potential claim) by FAX:
  1. Fax a cover letter and all applicable documents to (866) 255-2962 at the attention of "Professional Liability Claim Director, Specialties New York."
  2. Your claim will be imaged and forwarded electronically to Zurich Professional Liability Claims in New York. There it will be assigned to Claim Counsel, who will provide confirmation of receipt within 24 hours.
  3. A member of Zurich's Claims Team will then contact you within one business day to discuss the next steps.


To report a claim (or potential claim) by MAIL:
  1. Forward a cover letter and all applicable documents to:

    Zurich Professional Liability Claims Department
    P.O. Box 307010
    Jamaica, NY 11430-7010

  2. Your claim will be imaged and forwarded electronically to Zurich Professional Liability Claims in New York. There it will be assigned to Claim Counsel, who will provide confirmation of receipt within 24 hours.
  3. A member of Zurich’s Claims Team will then contact you within one business day to discuss the next steps.


For law firms insured by other carriers (non-Zurich):
